Qtum (pronounced “Quantum”) is a blockchain-based platform designed to support smart contracts and dApps. As an open-source, hybrid blockchain protocol, Qtum combines the security of Bitcoin’s UTXO model with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) technology in order to enable greater scalability and interoperability between existing blockchains.
By combining the Bitcoin blockchain with Ethereum technology, Qtum solves many of the weaknesses of current blockchain applications. Qtum is an ideal platform for developers to create and deploy distributed applications that can interact with each other in a secure and efficient manner.
Qtum has had a turbulent price history in the last five years. The lowest price of Qtum was 0.77 on 8th March 2020 while the highest was 35.38 on 2nd May 2021. As of May 2023, the trading price is hovering around 3 US Dollars. It is worth noting that the price of Qtum tends to be quite volatile, so traders should be mindful of potential risks before making any investments.
With a little research and due diligence, however, investors can take advantage of the current market conditions to reap rewards from their investment in Qtum.
Qtum is an open-source blockchain and cryptocurrency designed to enable secure transactions between multiple parties. Qtum combines the Bitcoin Core and Ethereum virtual machine technology to create a platform that supports smart contracts, decentralized applications (DApps), and more.
One of the main advantages of trading Qtum is that it provides a secure platform for executing smart contracts and interacting with dApps. Furthermore, its hybrid consensus mechanism offers faster transaction speed than single-chain blockchains like Bitcoin. Additionally, Qtum utilizes a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) system, which makes it more resistant to 51% of attacks. This makes Qtum a great choice for traders who want an extra layer of security.
On the other hand, Qtum is still relatively new, which means that it may be more volatile than some veteran cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Additionally, its low market cap can make trading Qtum difficult at times, as it can be hard to find liquidity.
